Delta Hotels Ottawa City Centre
101 Lyon Street North,
We'll be updating the information here soon!
The hotel has parking ($25 per day) but the garage will only accomodate vehicles that are less than 6 feet tall. The access to the parking garage is from Albert (a one way street) in the block before Lyon. So if you miss it, you'll have to go around the block.
Although the hotel's address in on Lyon, the entrance to the lobby entrance by car is from Albert, just before the Lyon intersection. You will pass the entrance to the parking garage a bit before this on Albert, at the back of the hotel.
Here's the entrance to the hotel parking, from Albert Street:
Here's where to turn into the driveway at the front of the hotel:
To get to the parking garage and hotel from the 417 eastbound, you can take the Kent Street exit, take Kent to Albert, then proceed along Albert Street almost to Lyon. If you're traveling west on the 417, you'll probably want to take exit 118 to Nicholas, then Albert almost to Lyon. But you're best to follow the directions of your favourite navigation app. Especially since many streets in downtown Ottawa are one way streets.
There are other parking garages nearby, operated by various private companies, but most of them will only accomodate shorter vehicles as well. There is a privately operated surface parking lot 1 block away at Queen and Kent, so no height limits. But as with any such lot in a downtown, it is just a placeholder until a building replaces it. One can only guess if it will still be there when CanFURence 2021 rolls around.
The Route 1 O-Train (LRT) stops at Lyon, about 100m up the street from the Delta. There are also a number of bus routes that will take you close to the Delta, so your best choice depends on where you're coming from. You should check the OCTranspo trip planner for how to get there from within Ottawa.
There are two VIA train stations that serve Ottawa. The main VIA station is at 200 Tremblay Road in Ottawa's east end. The Fallowfield station is in the west end and further from the Delta Hotel. We suggest you take the train to the VIA station at 200 Tremblay. If you're coming from Toronto and points west the train will stop at Fallowfields before continuing to the 200 Tremblay Road Station. If you're travelling from Montreal and points east the train stops at the 200 Trembley Road Station before continuing on to Fallowfields.
From the 200 Tremblay Road station you can take the route 1 O-train (LRT) in the Tunney's Pasture direction to the Lyon stop - this is about a 20 minute ride. Please check the OCTranspo trip planner for the most up to date information.
You may also take a taxi, Uber or Lyft from the Tremblay Road Station - it is about 6km or a 10 minute ride depending on traffic from 200 Tremblay.
By Intercity Bus
Greyhound no longer operates in Canada. New regional carriers may start operating to make up for Greyhound's departure from the marketplace.
Megabus (as of May 2023) offers a service from Toronto via Kingston to Ottawa. They also offer a service to Kingston from Montreal and points in between. It seems likely that you can take a Megabus to Kingston, and then switch to the Ottawa route. But you'd better talk to Megabus about that. Their web site is https://ca.megabus.com Megabus stops at St Laurent Station - Stop E - which will allow you to transfer to the Route 1 O-Train in the Tunney's Pasture direction to the Lyon stop - travel time is about 25 minutes. Please check the OCTranspo trip planner for the most up to date information. You may also take a taxi, Uber or Lyft from the St. Laurent Station - it is about 7km or a 10 minute ride depending on traffic.
Rider Express https://riderexpress.ca (Toronto to the St. Laurent Shopping Mall) is an option too. Rider Express operates in Ontario and points west, but not Quebec as of 2023.
From places in northern Ontario there's Ontario Northland's Sudbury to Ottawa route https://ontarionorthland.ca/en.
Orleans Express https://www.orleansexpress.com has a bus service from Montreal to Ottawa. This may be a more convenient option than Megabus for travellers from Montreal and other parts of their service area. You may also want to check Tour Express https://tourexpress.ca. Tour Express offers mini bus, shuttle van, and bus service.
Flixbus https://www.flixbus.ca offers service in southern Ontario, as does Red Arrow https://www.redarrow.ca
Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport (YOW) 1000 Airport Parkway Private
Air Canada and Westjet and Porter Airlines are the main Canadian carriers, as well as Air North. United, American and Delta also fly to YOW, although they may only be an option for international flyers.
You can take OCTranspo route 97 to connect with the Route 1 O-Train (LRT) in the Tunney's Pasture direction to the Lyon stop - depending on time of day and transfers you can expect the bus ride to take about 55 minutes. For all your options at the time of day you will be travelling please check the OCTranspo trip planner.
You may also take a taxi, Uber or Lyft - it is about 13km or a 15 minute ride depending on traffic.
